Our Musical Ministry
The music programs at The Massapequa Reformed Church are available to every age group and level of ability. Led by John Mayhew, music is a constant and beautiful presence in our church.
Instrumental
We are forming an instrumental ensemble to perform throughout the church year. If you have a talent to share, please contact John Mayhew.
Senior Choir
The
Senior Choir is our primary ministering group in our music program
and assists in leading our worship each Sunday morning. This choir
is open to all adults who are post-high school age and rehearses
each Thursday from 8 to 9:30pm. The repertoire includes musical
styles from classical to contemporary, as well as favorite hymn
arrangements. The Senior Choir is featured in our special worship services at Thanksgiving, the Christmas Cantata, as well as
our Christmas Eve, 
Holy Week and Easter services. We plan regular
social events to provide added time for fun and fellowship.
Youth Choir
This new choir is an exciting opportunity for the youth in grades 6-12. The Youth Choir enjoys music with a more contemporary, upbeat flair geared especially for young adults! Rehearsals are on Sunday evenings before the Youth Group meeting at 6:30pm. We thank Kate Flippen who will assist with the group. Youth Choir will sing regularly at worship, as well as our Christmas Cantata and on other special occasions with our Senior and Junior Choirs.
Junior Choir
This group is for children in grades 1-5. The music for this group is bright and energetic and enables the children a good opportunity to sing out and enjoy music! Rehearsals are directly after Sunday worship until 11am. Junior Choir sings at Sunday worship approximately once each month. They are also featured in our Christmas Cantata and Christmas Eve service, and on other special occasions with our Senior and Youth Choirs.
